Will the replacement light retain my truck’s cargo lighting?

Do not assume every third brake light includes cargo lighting. Confirm that the selected assembly supports both brake and cargo-light functions, and compare its connector with your original lamp before ordering.

Does a replacement third brake light fix water leaking around the rear window?

Only if the leak comes from the lamp or its seal. Check where water enters before buying. A new light will not fix a leaking window seal, and a damaged lamp gasket should be replaced during installation.

Do I need a complete brake light or just a replacement gasket?

If the lamp works and its lens and housing are intact, a worn seal may only require a matching gasket. If the lamp is cracked or fails after the power supply and wiring are checked, consider replacing the assembly. The separately sold gasket does not include a light.
